Terms and conditions

These terms explain the conditions for using the EllieWish website and its wishlist and gifting features. Please read them before creating an account or using those features. If you do not agree, do not use them.

EllieWish is operated by Haddon Family Ltd, a registered limited company, company number 16993428. You can contact us about these terms, the service or a complaint at hi@haddon.family.

EllieWish helps people save wishes from different websites, choose how to share wishlists and coordinate gifts. It is not the retailer of products linked from a wishlist, and a wishlist entry is not an offer by us to sell or supply that product.

Purchases take place with the retailer you choose, under that retailer's terms. Product availability, stock, price, descriptions, delivery, returns and refunds are matters to check with the retailer. A price, image or product link shown on EllieWish may change or become out of date.

Creating a wishlist or marking an item as purchased does not place an order, transfer money or arrange delivery through EllieWish. Any future paid EllieWish feature will have its price and specific terms shown before you agree to pay for it.

Provide accurate account information, keep your sign-in details secure and do not let someone else use your account without appropriate authority. Contact us promptly if you think your account has been accessed without permission.

Only provide information and content you are entitled to use and share. Do not impersonate another person or publish someone else's private information without an appropriate reason or permission. Avoid putting sensitive personal information in public wishlists.

Account access and security controls must not be bypassed. A person acting on behalf of someone else must have authority to do so.

You choose whether a wishlist is public, private or password protected. Public wishlists can be viewed or found by other people. Anyone with a password-protected list's link and password can view it, and people who can see a list may copy or share its contents. Choose sharing settings carefully and do not post information you need to keep confidential.

You keep any rights you have in content you add. You give us permission to store, process and display that content as needed to provide and protect EllieWish, in line with your sharing settings and our Privacy policy. This does not transfer ownership of your content to us.

Product images, names and retailer material may belong to third parties. Adding a product link does not give you ownership of their material or permission to misuse it. Contact hi@haddon.family to report content you believe is unlawful or infringes your rights.

You can reserve or mark gifts as purchased without an account. A reservation lasts for 24 hours unless cancelled or marked as purchased. Reserving on EllieWish does not reserve retailer stock, lock a price or guarantee that you will be able to buy the product.

Only mark a gift as purchased after you have actually bought it. Do not make false purchase claims, reserve gifts to prevent other people buying them, or deliberately mislead wishlist owners or givers. These actions can spoil the surprise and leave someone without a gift.

Guest gift management depends on using the same browser session. Clearing cookies, changing browser or device, or losing that session can remove your ability to manage the gift. Clearing browser storage does not itself cancel a gift or delete its record. Contact us if you need help.

Other givers do not see your giver name, but the wishlist owner can choose to reveal names on purchased gifts. Do not use a giver name you are unwilling for the owner to see. Undoing a gift on EllieWish does not cancel a retailer order, return a product or arrange a refund.

Do not use EllieWish for unlawful, fraudulent, threatening, abusive or harmful activity. Do not upload malicious material, send spam, interfere with the service, bypass access controls or rate limits, or attempt to access accounts, private lists or data you are not authorised to access.

Do not use automated activity to disrupt the service or manipulate gifts, reservations or search results. Report suspected abuse or security concerns to hi@haddon.family without accessing, changing or exposing other people's information.

EllieWish is being developed and features may change, be unavailable or need maintenance. We will take reasonable care in providing the service, but do not promise uninterrupted access, that every retailer link will work or that saved product information will always be current.

You can stop using EllieWish at any time. Eligible signed-in accounts can delete their account and wishlists through account management. Our Privacy policy explains the handling of other records, including legal, security, audit and backup records.

We may remove content or restrict access where reasonably necessary to address a breach of these terms, protect people or the service, or comply with law. Where appropriate and lawful, we will explain the reason and how to contact us about the decision.

We are responsible for loss or damage where the law makes us responsible, including foreseeable loss caused by our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not the party fulfilling a retailer's product order, but that does not remove responsibility for our own actions.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Your mandatory rights under applicable consumer law remain in place. These terms do not require you to give up access to courts, a regulator or remedies available to you under law.

Our Privacy policy, Cookie policy and Your data rights page explain how we handle personal information and essential storage. Acknowledging the cookie notice is not agreement to optional tracking or marketing and does not waive your data-protection rights.

We may update these terms as the service or applicable law changes. The date at the top shows when this version was published. We will give appropriate notice of material changes where required; an update does not retrospectively take away rights you already have.

If you have a concern about EllieWish or these terms, contact hi@haddon.family so we can try to resolve it. Your rights to seek other remedies or complain to an appropriate regulator remain unaffected.
